THE KITCHEN GALLERY, LLC - Newsletter, 9-09 Stop down soon, and often. Yo folks! Finally another edition of the TKG Newsletter is here. I’ll try to make this sparse and to the point. HUGE SALE: 50% off Sidewalk Sale, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 9/11, 12, 13 - THIS YEAR! We need to clear the shelves for all the unique items we have ordered in for Fall and the Holidays. Bargain time! Starts a week from this Friday. ONGOING SALES: BTW, we usually have something on sale in the store. When I feel something has sat on the shelves too long with no action, I mark it down and put a SALE sticker on it. So if you’re in the bargain mood, stop by and see what my impulses made available for you this week. APRONS. We have a really fun supply of cute, serviceable, fun, practical, colorful, aprons. These are our first “hotcakes”! Stop in a see why. Yes, for one line we have matching rubber gloves with frills at the top, along with optional matching garters. VIKING APPLIANCES. Starting 9/1/09 and while supplies last here are the deals on this line:
LSA GLASS. We have new hand blown glass from Poland. Beautiful clear blues and greens.
NORWEGIAN CERAMICS. We still have a few of the one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces I brought back from Norway this Spring. MICHAEL ARAM. This week another shipment of new Michael Aram serveware and gift items arrived. POLISH POTTERY. Our Polish Pottery section has grown recently. Many new pieces and more classic designs. EUROSPA SOAP. We brought in a line of liquid hand soap, Eurospa. It’s the first soap to receive the EPA’s approval. ARCUSINE. We have a new line of glass bakeware, Arcuisine, from France. FOR THE YOUNG ONES. New for the kids in your life, the Curious Chef line:
POT RACKS. Enclume, a company that originated making metal furnishings for French royality has added to its line a lighter gage set of pot racks. We have them at about 1/3 the price of their main line. And we can always order you a special item from their main line.
WEBSTORE IN BETA. Our WEBSTORE is finally in beta test as I write this. If everything goes well, by next Friday, 9/11/09, you can purchase many of the items we have in the store, thru our webstore. The webstore will carry many more items than we can fit in our store. Shop us regularly online to see what is new. And, please, bare with us during the first month of this new venture. We will do our best to provide the excellent service you have enjoyed in the store. AND, we have never opened a webstore before. We have prepared thoroughly for this, and there will be surprises - life is like that. OUR WAREHOUSE IS OPEN. You can buy about 60,000 items thru www.thekitchengallery.biz RIGHT NOW. These items are housed in and shipped from the warehouse we have contracted with. This is NOT as local as we would like, but it is the best solution to providing you the range of product you want, while directing some of the profit from your purchase back into our neighborhood. Our margin on these warehouse provided items is about 25% of what it is for items you buy either in our store, or from the webstore we will soon go live with. So, it helps all of us if you direct your interest first to our store and webstore. But if you can’t find what you want in those two places, there is the warehouse to take care of you. UPDATE: Thank you for helping us NOT participate in the depression! Our sales are 20% above last year. Yes, we’re smiling. The earnings from sales growth have been turned into a $45,000 increase in inventory over SEP ’08. So, yes, we have a lot more product here this year. And we are still fragile. Your’s truly still takes home less than $100 a week, and we’re looking forward to reaching a sustainable level for all of us here within this year. We are constantly rewarded by your expressions of delight and gratitude and the fact that many of you return often, and with friends in tow. We are trending towards profitability in a very nice way. We don’t have the cushion necessary for big advertising blitzes, so we rely on you telling your friends about us. Thanks for your loyalty and encouragement. TROUBLE IN 2011!!! There is a plan to tear up Willy St. for about six months beginning 5/10. The businesses and many supportive residents have lobbied the City to delay this assault on the survival of Willy St’s many small businesses. A call/email to your Alder expressing same support would be wonderful. Its likely we will get a one year reprieve. That means we have one more year to solidify your TKG habit. Only a strong habit will bring you back thru the dust and inconvenience of what is ahead. We’ll dearly need you during the street construction. This is an early alert. I will certainly mention this again later. FALL BAKING AND ENTERTAINING. It will soon be entertainment, cooking, and holiday baking time. We have glass and ceramic pie plates, Chicago Metalic baking pans, lasagna dishes, rolling pins, sifters, decorating supplies, and let your imagination fill in the rest. We are ready to help you thru any events you are planning on enjoying, right thru the New Year!!!
